If you’ve been charged with a DUI or misdemeanor crime and sent to the East Mesa Justice Court, you must have been arrested by either DPS or the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. If you were arrested by a city cop, then you should have been sent to a city court.

To be sent to East Mesa Justice Court, you must have been arrested within its jurisdictional boundaries. The boundaries for East Mesa are not a square, and they’re not that easy to keep track of. The boundaries are Copper Canyon Street to the north, Baseline Road to the south, Meridian Road to the east and Ashbrook to the west. If you weren’t within these jurisdictional boundaries when you were arrested, the case can be thrown out. Contact DM Cantor to check, because you may have a potential defense.
