Appellate/Writing Attorney

Immediate opening for an Appellate/Writing Attorney in a boutique Phoenix Criminal Defense firm.  Must be an excellent researcher and writer and have a hunger for writing at a high caliber.  Fast paced office with a team approach. No litigation experience necessary.   This role offers the candidate the opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced criminal defense practitioners, including multiple Certified Criminal Law Specialists, to provide support on a multitude of writing assignments including appeals, post-conviction relief matters, set asides, and pre-trial motions.  Candidates must be able to take direction and then work independently, have strong research and writing skills, and be extremely organized.

We offer a competitive salary and a generous benefits package including two weeks of paid vacation, one week of paid sick leave, one week of PTO, with additional days of Loyalty PTO accruing after one year of service, health insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) with employer match after one year of service.

Receptionist

Immediate opening for a Receptionist.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering incoming calls
  • Taking accurate messages
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Data entry
  • Scanning documents and saving electronic copies
  • Assisting the administrative team with various tasks

Job Requirements:

  • Able to work Monday to Friday (7:30 am to 4:30 pm)
  • Experience with multi-line phone units
  • Strong communication, high attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are a must
  • Advanced expertise in Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • High school diploma or equivalent

We offer a competitive starting compensation plus an outstanding benefits package, including ten paid holidays, ten days paid vacation days, five days of paid sick time a year, and five personal time off days a year. Upon completion of the first year of employment do offer loyalty paid time off which means an employee can earn an additional day off per year for the first 5 years. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance. After one year, a 401K with a very generous employer match is offered.

Employee Benefits at DM Cantor

  • Medical Insurance: Employer pays for half of the cost for the employee’s medical insurance benefits. Additional insurance available for the employee to add on for self, self and spouse/domestic partner, self and children, or entire family. Employer plan also includes a $15,000 Life Insurance Death Benefit.
  • Loyalty Medical Insurance Benefits: Employer pays for all of the cost for the employee’s medical insurance benefits after 3 years of employment.  Employer pays for all of the benefits for the employee’s entire family’s medical insurance after 10 years of employment.
  • Dental Insurance: Additional insurance available for the employee to add on for self, self and spouse/domestic partner, self and children, or entire family.
  • Vision Insurance:Additional insurance available for the employee to add on for self, self and spouse/domestic partner, self and children, or entire family.
  • 401K and Employer matching: Eligible for participation after one year of employment. Employer match is 100% on 1st3% deferred, 50% on 3-5% (e.,5% deferral gets a 4% match – this is an immediate 80% ROI!) Match is subject to federal highly compensated employee threshold. Match amount vests immediately!
  • Underground Garage Parking paid for every employee.
  • Paid Holidays Off: 2 weeks (10 business days).
  • Paid Vacation: 2 weeks (10 business days).
  • Personal Time Off: 1 week (5 business days).
  • Loyalty Paid Vacation:After 10 years of employment: 3 weeks (15 business days); after 15 years of employment:4 weeks (20 business days); after 20 year of employment: 5 weeks (25 business days); after 25 years of employment: 6 weeks (30 business days).
  • Personal Sick Time: 1 week (5 business days).
  • Loyalty Paid Time Off (In addition to Vacation Time, Personal Time off, and 1 week paid Personal Sick Time): After 1 year of employment: an additional 1 business day; after 2 years of employment:an additional 2 business days; after 3 years of employment:an additional 3 business days; after 4 years of employment: an additional 4 business days; after 5 years of employment: an additional 5 business days.
    • This means that in year 6 (after 5 years of employment) an employee will receive 2 weeks of Paid Holiday Time off plus5 weeks of Paid Vacation/Sick Time/Loyalty Time Off/ Personal Time off; totaling 7 paid weeks off.
  • Family Style Catered Lunchesevery 1stand 3rdThursday of the month.
  • Breakfast Catered every Friday.
  • Unlimited Snacksincluding Fruit (bananas, oranges, pears, and apples), Fruit Snacks, Granolas Bars, and Chips (Lays, Doritos, Fritos, Cheetos, Funyuns, Sun Chips, and Skinny Pop Popcorn).
