If you have received a misdemeanor or a DUI and has been directed to go to the North Valley Justice Court, this means that they have either been arrested by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office or the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS). Note that if you were arrested by a Phoenix city police officer, then the individual should be directed to city court.

David Cantor explains how the North Valley Justice Court works and reviews the presiding judge:

The North Valley Justice Court’s jurisdictional boundaries are Beardsley Road to the north, Olive Avenue to the south, 34th Lane to the east and 67th Drive to the west. These boundaries do not make a perfect rectangle. In fact, these jurisdictional boundaries are highly unusual because they are actually two separate islands of land. It is very important to determine that the arrest was actually made within one of these islands. Otherwise, an individual will have a jurisdictional defense to the charge which can result in the entire case being dismissed.

The North Valley Justice Court is located in the northwest regional court center at 14264 West Tierra Buena Lane in Surprise, Arizona. The center has four or five courtrooms, so individuals should make sure to look specifically for the North Valley Justice Court. The court’s business hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and the phone number is (602) 372-2000. There is plenty of free parking available at the court.
