David Cantor explains the Arrowhead Justice Court and judge:
If you have been arrested for a DUI or misdemeanor crime, and told to go to the Arrowhead Justice Court, you need to meet with DM Cantor. All the facts of your case will be thoroughly evaluated so that you have the best possible resolution for your case.
An initial factor to be determined is if the arrest was made within the jurisdiction of the Arrowhead Justice Court. The boundaries for this court include New River to the north, Loma Lane to the south, 51st drive to the east and 115th Avenue to the west. A map of the actual boundary shows it to be very erratic and not at all rectangular. If you were arrested or ticketed outside the boundary of the court’s jurisdiction, it may be a defense for your case.
The day of court you need to report to the Arrowhead Justice Court. It is one of several courts located inside the Northwest Regional Justice Court located at 14262 West Tiara Buena Lane in Surprise, Arizona. The zip code is 85374. Park in front. Parking is free. It is very important to dress professionally. Do not wear sunglasses, hats, shorts or tank tops.
The justice of the peace presiding over this court is Craig Wismer. Justice Wismer has a reputation for being quick and fair. It is, however, important to understand that often a justice of the peace is not a lawyer. They are elected in a popularity contests and undergo a brief six week training program to prepare them to judge cases. For this reason it is important to be represented by an experienced lawyer who can make sure that the law is correctly applied to your best advantage.
