Agua Fria Justice Court
Arrested in Arizona? Call Today for Help!
If you were arrested for a DUI or misdemeanor traffic crime and sent to the Agua Fria Justice Court, that means you were arrested by either DPS or the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. If you were arrested by a city cop, then you should have been sent to a city court.
David Cantor explains the Agua Fria Justice Court:
To be sent to Agua Fria Justice Court, you must have been arrested within certain boundaries. The boundaries for Aqua Fria do not form a recognizable shape. Roughly, the boundaries are McDowell Road to the north, Gila Crossing to the south, Carver Road to the east and 133rd Avenue to the west. It is very imperative that you check with a lawyer to make sure that you were arrested within the boundaries for this court. If you weren’t, the case can be thrown out. DM Cantor can help you with that, give us a call to get a free consultation.
Agua Fria Justice Court is located at 10420 West Van Buren in Avondale, Arizona. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. The court can be reached at 602-372-8001. Parking in the front is free. Whenever you go to court, remember to dress appropriately. Don’t wear shorts, tank tops, baseball hats or sunglasses. The judge at Agua Fria is Joe “Pep” Guzman. He’s been there for a long time and tends to rule for the state. For this reason, it’s very important you get a good attorney to fight your case.
Remember that justices of the peace are usually not lawyers, and they did not go to law school. In fact, the only credentials a justice of the peace needs is a high school diploma and no felony convictions. They are elected and go through only six weeks of training. It’s difficult to trust somebody to make an educated decision if their education in the subject is only six weeks. You’d never trust a surgeon who didn’t go through medical school. This is why you need an attorney to speak for your interests.
