— Tips and Advice when going to the Maricopa County Juvenile Court:

Dress professionally. You need to show the Judge that it matters to you. Don’t wear shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops or sunglasses. This will help the Judge see you as professional when you talk to them. By wearing the items above or dressing casually, you are showing the Judge that you don’t take into consideration your appearance, and you aren’t taking the severity of the case seriously. Along these same lines, speak to them respectfully as well. If you get hungry, there are many restaurants in the area.

The courthouse in Downtown Phoenix does not have a cafeteria. It is best to eat before you go to the courthouse because sometimes the process may take longer than expected. Try to remember to bring some small snacks but, if you can’t bring some snacks, make sure that you have change or dollar bills for vending machines. It may be a good idea to research area restaurants ahead of time as well, so you know where to go, should you get hungry.

For an understanding on the current Presiding Judges, click on ‘Judges’ at the top menu of this page. If we have dealt with your Judge before, we will give an opinion if they are more pro-defense, pro-prosecutor or right down the middle. There is a possibility that we will have not dealt with the current Judge before but, if we have, you will have some kind of knowledge so you won’t be going in blind.
