Federal Felony Conspiracy to Commit Theft Concerning Programs Receiving Federal Benefits ($119,600) Reduced to Probation with Zero Days in Jail – U.S. v. Mr. F (DMC No. 12941) (United States District Court, District of Arizona Case No. 2:15-CR-00468-DLR):  Mr. F worked for the County Hospital.  He had been using the County Hospital’s credit card to purchase personal items for himself.  This included appliances from Sears; tools from Home Depot; and various construction items from a local construction supply store.  He would sell off the appliances and tools, then he would keep the money.  As far as the construction materials, he used those to begin an addition on his home. The FBI became involved, executed a Search Warrant and discovered some of the items at Mr. F’s house.  They also questioned him and he admitted to the Misappropriation of Funds.

We became involved in the case after Mr. F was charged with a violation of Conspiracy to Commit Theft concerning a Program Receiving Federal Benefits per Statute 18 USC 371.  That particular charge carried a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.  We were able to show some of the hardships that Mr. F was going through, and the struggles he had with his family due to an adoption of his step children.  We also had him cooperate fully with the Federal authorities.  Ultimately, he was sentenced to Probation with Zero Days in Jail.
