State v. Mr. T (DMC No. 8614)

State v. Mr. T (DMC No. 8614) – Federal Felony Counterfeiting US Currency, and Federal Felony Forgery – Not Charged (and Title IX Violation Dismissed at Hearing) – Phoenix Police Department and Apollo High School Investigated (Title IX No. 0XXXXXX0).

Mr. T was a senior at Apollo High School, and he discovered that with the right paper and a color printer, he could print his own $20 bills. He then took and used these bills at the snack bar, in which his friend was working as a cashier. At the end of one of the days, the cash deposit was made and it revealed there was a Counterfeit Bill. The Police were then contacted, and security video footage was viewed, showing Mr. T passing the bill off in the high school cafeteria.

The Phoenix Police Department made contact with Mr. T, and it was at that time he secured the services of DM Cantor. Simultaneously, the school issued a nine-day suspension, and we requested to have a meeting in a Title IX hearing with the Principal at the school. After presenting Mitigation Evidence, the school reduced Mr. T’s suspension down to only five days, and he was Not Expelled from the school. In regards to the Phoenix Police Department, they agreed to Not to Route Charges to either the Maricopa County Superior Court, or the Maricopa County Juvenile Court. This was contingent on Mr. T explaining exactly how he was able to produce the Counterfeit Bills. Mr. T has No Criminal History or Charges as either a juvenile or an adult.
