State v. Mr. S (DMC No. 17831) – Felony Sexual Assault (14-year-old Minor/18-year-old Adult) Dangerous Crimes Against Children, and Felony Sexual Conduct with a Minor (DCAC) – Not Charged – Chandler Police Department Investigated

Mr. S was a 28-year-old male, who received multiple calls from friends that he was being accused of “child rape” by a 24-year-old female. The 24-year-old claimed that this had occurred ten years earlier on a camping trip. The female was a younger sister of a friend of Mr. S’s. Mr. S received a call from the friend making all sorts of accusations, which Mr. S denied. This turned out to be a “Confrontation Call” that was set up by the Detectives and recorded in an effort to obtain an admission from Mr. S. In addition, Mr. S’s mom had received a message from the alleged Victim making these allegations, and stated that he needed to get an attorney. It was at that time, Mr. S secured the services of DM Cantor.

We immediately got involved and began looking at the criminal history of the accuser. She was a heroin addict, who lived homeless for a while, and had been charged with stealing money from her parents. We also discovered that she had been through drug and alcohol rehab twice, and had been arrested for getting into a fight with her boyfriend over drug use. 

We interviewed many people who were familiar with this girl and her accusations and drug usage. We compiled all of that information, in order to provide to Detectives to show that she was untrustworthy. In the end, it appeared this was another attempt to extort money from someone in her past. Apparently, she had a history of doing these things. Ultimately, No Charges were brought against Mr. S. Had he been Charged and Convicted of this crime, he could have spent a Minimum of 20 years in Prison. Instead, he has No Criminal History and his Record is Clean.
