US v. Mr. N (DMC No. 17101)

US v. Mr. N (DMC No. 17101) – Federal Felony International Arms Dealing, and Federal Felony Money Laundering ($110,000) – Not Charged (Due to a Cooperation Deal with the United States Attorney’s Office) – Commissioner’s Subpoena from the Ukraine Quashed (Per the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance) –United States Department of Justice Investigated (Case No. MC-XX-XXXX5-PHX-XXX)

Mr. N was a Naturalized US citizen who originally emigrated from Uzbekistan. He ran a company that did international distributions and licensing contracts regarding military equipment. This company was run with a second individual who was originally from Ohio. Most recently, he was working for companies who needed helicopter parts, engines, and pilot training. When the Department of Justice discovered that Mr. N was doing business with Ukraine, and arranging helicopter parts and sales  through Mexico, they issued a “Commissioner’s Subpoena” in order to obtain the records of his business dealings. It was at this time that he contacted and secured the services of DM Cantor.

We immediately became involved, and contacted the Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona who was in charge of the investigation. We were informed at that time that the proper permission and licensing may not have been secured by Mr. N. We agreed to a “Proffer” and a “Free Talk” in order to Cooperate fully. We eventually sat down and had a meeting at the Arizona United States Attorney’s Office, and we revealed all information that pertained to the Arizona meetings and contracts, Mexico meetings and contracts, and meetings in the Ukraine. Ultimately, the Assistant United States Attorney agreed that this appeared to be a simple license compliance issue, and they agreed Not to Charge Mr. N. Had he been Charged with a violation of International Arms Dealing, he could have spent many Years in Prison. Instead, he has No Criminal Record and is successfully conducting business today.
