State v. Dr. G (DMC No. 16055) – Felony Sexual Assault (“Me Too” Allegation) – Not Charged – Buckeye Police Department Investigated (DR No. 20XX-XXXXXX7)
Dr. G was a Doctor from California who had dated his high school sweetheart in California in the late seventies. Decades later, he met up with his ex-girlfriend in California, and she informed him that she lived in Buckeye, Arizona. She then sent him multiple text messages asking him to come out and visit and that they would “hook up” and she described what “nighties” she would be wearing. Through these texts and emails, there was extended evidence that they would be sexually intimate once he comes to visit. He eventually did fly out to Arizona, and they had consensual sex.
The next day, they ate breakfast and hung out together all day. That night, they went to dinner, and then went to sleep together without having sexual relations. After that, she drove him to the airport where he flew back to California. For the next month and a half, there are numerous texts and emails going back and forth, where the alleged victim claims she was “disrespected” and that Dr. G should not be ignoring her. She acknowledged that she knew that even though he was currently separated from his wife, that she issued the threat of “I know where you and your family live”. She subsequently filed a Police Report claiming that she had been Sexually Assaulted.
At that point, Dr. G secured the services of DM Cantor. After receiving the Police report, we discovered that she told the Police that she was “going through some issues as a child involving incest, and had been going to counseling for a past trauma”. She also told the Police that “she never told him to stop”. It was quite obvious, that she never told him “no,” and she was claiming that the “alcohol had gotten the best” of her.
We turned over hundreds of texts and photos to the Police Officers, along with the emails that threatened Dr. G. Ultimately, the Police “Closed” the Case and did not forward the charges. Dr. G could have lost his Medical License, and been in Prison up to 15 years if he were convicted of these charges.
