REDUCED | RECKLESS DRIVING – State vs. Ms. R. (DMC No. 10130) (Scottsdale City Court No. TR-2011002474): A Scottsdale police officer claimed that Ms. R. executed a left hand turn at a high rate of speed at a high rate of speed directly in front of him. He had to slam on his brakes to avoid a collision. When he eventually got behind her, he clocked her doing 55 in a 40 MPH zone. We were able to convince the prosecutor that this did not qualify as a Reckless Driving, and that the officer was merely upset with being cut off in traffic. The prosecutor agreed and reduced the charge to a simple Civil Speeding Ticket.
