Kevin Salazar was born in Trenton, New Jersey, and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He attended the University of Arizona and obtained a bachelor’s degree in law. Subsequently, Kevin worked as a paralegal at the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
Kevin then moved to Lawrence, Kansas to attend the University of Kansas School of Law. During law school, Kevin was involved in programs that provided him with valuable insights into criminal law, including the Project for Innocence and criminal defense practice in the school’s legal aid clinic.
Kevin also handled cases from a prosecution perspective. As an intern at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, he worked in the homicide bureau, but also was trusted to work on DUI felony jury trials.
After graduating, Kevin returned to Arizona and prosecuted cases as a deputy county attorney at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. There he handled hundreds of misdemeanor cases and took cases to trial, evidentiary hearings, and oral arguments.
Kevin always aimed to bring his skills to criminal defense and advocate for the accused, which DM Cantor helped him accomplish.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys working out, practicing guitar, and listening to live music, and spending time with his friends, family, and dog.
