Arrested in Arizona? Call Today for Help!

Watch this video of DM Cantor, a Board Certified Criminal Law Specialist, describe in detail what to expect when visiting the Maricopa County Superior Court in Downtown Phoenix, AZ. There are 5 Courthouses in a cluster. Learn about each one below.

Four of these Maricopa County Superior Courts are all clustered together and the fifth one – the Old Courthouse – is directly across the street. The Old Courthouse deals with civil cases, some juvenile cases with dependency concerns and child welfare cases. The East Court Building deals mainly with family law and civil court. The West Court Building is where the Probation Office is located.

The Central Court Building and the South Court Tower both handle criminal matters. The Central Court, South Court, East Court and West Court Buildings are connected to each other so once you’re inside one you can move around all four through connecting hallways. If you pay a visit to the court, the easiest way to get there, if you’re coming via I-10, is to exit at 7th Street then continue South all the way down to Jefferson Street or Washington Street. There is plenty of available parking in the area including the Cityscape Complex, the Renaissance Tower and the Luhrs Tower. The Sing High Chop Suey house even rents parking spaces and is located across the street from the courthouses.

There is plenty of food all around the courthouse as well as a cafeteria in the South Court tower if you are going to be there for a while. When you go the courthouse, be sure that you dress professionally. Imagine you’re going to a job interview and view any visit to the courthouse as a serious matter. If you have been charged with a felony, there is a possibility that you might go to prison. In fact, some charges carry mandatory prison time so it’s important to make a good impression on the judge.

As far as your Judge, if you want to know more about him/her, Click Here for our Judges Reviews, go to the Maricopa County Superior Court section then find your Judge’s name. We will give you one of four opinions; either we think the judge is pro-defense, pro-state, is fair to both sides or I have no opinion because the judge just rotated onto the criminal bench we haven’t dealt with them yet.

Again, if you’re in those courts you probably have a criminal case and you should give us a call at (602) 307-0808 or Click Here to Schedule a Free Initial Consultation.
