State v. Mr. G (DMC No. 16093) – Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Student – Ability to Reapply for a Teacher’s License in the Future (Per Consent to Surrender) – Arizona State Board of Education (Case No. C-20XX-XX7)

Mr. G was a high school teacher in a West Valley high school, who was beloved by his students. A rumor starting going around per Snapchat messaging that Mr. G was offering money for Sexual Conduct of a student. In reality, Mr. G had been contacted by one of his ex-student’s, who had runaway from home, and claimed to be homeless in a local park. He went to the local park, in order to give some money and food to the student, when he was jumped by a group of students and physically Assaulted. After this occurred, Mr. G secured the services of DM Cantor. 

We were able to quickly shut down any allegations regarding Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, so no charges were filed. In addition, the school had filed with the Arizona Department of Education to Revoke Mr. G’s Teaching License. After the Assault occurred, Mr. G moved out of state in order to pursue a different line of work. We still insisted on having the Hearing with the Arizona Board of Education to preserve his ability to reapply in the future. Because there were no actual witnesses, and nobody would come forward to substantiate these allegations, they agreed to allow Mr. G to surrender his current teaching license, and left him the Ability to Apply for a Teaching License in the future should he move to Arizona. Mr. G is now working out of state, and he and his family are doing quite well.
