State v. Mr. C (DMC No. 18187) – Felony Aggravated Assault Dangerous (with Gun) – Mitigated Minimum Sentence Imposed (of 5 Years in Prison) After Jury Trial Conviction with a Different Law Firm – Maricopa County Superior Court (Case No. CR2021-000242)
Mr. C had been charged with shooting someone, and he secured the services of another Law Firm to represent him at Jury Trial. Unfortunately, this Other Law Firm ended up having Mr. C convicted of Aggravated Assault Dangerous. He was then facing a Sentencing with a 5 to 15 year Range of Prison Time. It was at that point he secured the services of DM Cantor to conduct a “Mitigation Hearing” in order to obtain the Lowest Possible Prison Sentence.
Once we came onboard, we secured the other firm’s entire Trial File. We also began our Mitigation Process by having a Mitigation Specialist interview Mr. C and all of his family members. We also obtained letters from various people attesting to Mr. C’s good character, and we obtained all his other records and information that showed he deserved the Lowest Possible Prison Sentence.
Although the victim’s family showed up to testify for Aggravation, we were able to convince the Judge to impose the Lowest Possible Sentence – 5 years of DOC. After the Sentencing was concluded, he then secured DM Cantor to also handle his Appeal of the Jury Trial Conviction with the Division One, Arizona Court of Appeals.
